Voice Dysphoria: a fundamental piece of gender affirming care
with content provided by Nicole Gress (she/they) of Undead Voice and her guests
Join us as we hear from Undead Voice, an organization that helps gender diverse people find their true voice. We’ll talk about everything that makes up our voice, understand voice dysphoria, and how this curriculum uniquely addresses the specific needs of trans and gender diverse persons. BONUS! Our PFLAG MB families have a unique opportunity to join a cohort of voice training for free!
About our Presenter:
Nicole Gress (she/they), MS, CCC-SLP, is a licensed speech-language pathologist, trans voice expert, and the founder of Undead Voice—the leading voice transition training company for trans and gender-diverse (TGD) people. With over 12 years of experience, Nicole has helped more than 100,000 voices across 20 countries align their voice with their identity through a groundbreaking, community-centered methodology that replaces outdated, medicalized models of care.
Their work is rooted in accessibility, affirmation, and autonomy. Through Undead Voice Lab, Nicole has built a lifelong support system that removes traditional barriers to care, offering expert coaching, self-paced learning, and community without insurance, gatekeeping, or waitlists. To date, Undead Voice has granted over $1,600,000 in need-based scholarships, ensuring that trans and gender-diverse people can access voice training regardless of financial circumstances. The company partners with Fortune 500 employers, healthcare systems, and LGBTQ+ organizations to ensure affirming voice training is available across workplaces, clinics, and communities.
Nicole currently serves on the TGX+ Initiative Committee for the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), as an Executive Board Member at the Greater Seattle Business Alliance (GSBA), and sits on the Board of Directors for the Global Trans Equity Project. A NOTE ABOUT VIRTUAL MEETINGS:
We will be utilizing Zoom features that provide the highest level of safety and confidentiality possible. Zoom is free to you and you need not have an account to join us. If you are new to Zoom, you can follow the links [here] for brief tutorials on all you need to know to sign on to a Zoom meeting with us. We ask that each of you that would like to participate in the on-line support, contact us in advance by email at rsvp@pflagmanhattanbeach.org to RSVP for the meeting. We will cut off RSVPs at 5 p.m. on the day of the meeting. All participants will receive a follow-up email with the link to the Zoom call and a password. For confidentiality’s sake, please do not forward these to another participant — they are welcome to contact us directly to receive the link.
We recognize that youth may be interested in the educational part of this meeting and they are welcome to join us. As usual, we ask that youth who may want to stick around for our support groups be joined by a parent. Some heavy emotions can emerge in the course of our sessions and having a parent on-hand helps to ensure that the needs of any youth on the call are met.
If you need more personalized assistance and support, we remain here for you. Email us confidentially at info@pflagmanhattanbeach.org and we will work with you to identify the best member of our team to assist with your individual needs.
